Cheerios can cheer up your day!

Again, my poor son will have to grow up and eventually come to terms with the fact that his mom is wierd. He was cranky at snack time a couple of days ago and I noticed that one of his cheerios was stuck to his face. So, I proceeded to lick and stick every cheerio on his tray to his face and body. He wasn't cranky for long! He thought my new game was so much fun and he'd giggle every time I'd stick another piece of cereal on him. Of course, after a fun time like that, we HAD to have pictures. So, we spent another 15 minutes photographing our fun.

Random Late Night Self Portraiture

When Kevin is gone, crazy things happen here. The laundry backs up, we eat turkey sandwiches for weeks on end...and I get bored sometimes after the baby has gone to bed. Sometimes a movie just won't do it...no one is writing me on facebook...no new emails to read...my sister is out being crazy at college and I can't call her on the phone and my brain starts thinking about things to do (which is always scary because my brain comes up with some interesting things). Last night, I decided to have fun with the camera. It was around 11pm and I thought..."What the heck? I haven't taken pictures of myself lately, and I want to play in Photoshop". Really, that's what went through my mind. So, on the flash went and these are some of the pictures I captured at arms' length (I was too lazy to pull out the tripod). I don't think I'm necessarily photogenic, but I'm a cooperative subject, and so I go in front of the camera sometimes when I want to try something out in Photoshop. So, here's me, sharing my boredom with all of you. Enjoy!

Easter Bloopers

I have tried for days to get some good Easter shots and it never works out. It's either too cloudy or too cold...or today, I had a kid who just didn't want to have his picture taken. So, out of who knows how many shots, these are the only two that were in focus and even worth trying to save. Maybe we'll try again at a later date...and then again, maybe we'll move on with life. Happy Easter!

Visit from Grandma and Grandpa Hales

These were taken as Grandma and Grandpa Hales drove across the United States from the MTC in Provo, to their new home for the next 18 months in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They are serving a mission for our church. They have 22 grandkids, but you would never know it. Each one seems like their "only" grandchild. They treat each one like they are special and valuable. They take time out to see each blessing, baptism, and be there for every big event. It has been such a blessing to have them in our lives. We are so proud of them for serving a mission. These pictures were taken while I was making breakfast and grandpa took charge of Weslee. Grandpa "annoyed" Weslee with his famous silly songs and tickling. Weslee struck back with his spoon from breakfast, beating grandpa over the head with it in one of the pictures.

Vegetable!

So, Grandma and Grandpa Hales bought a little foam couch and chair for Wes for his upcoming 1st birthday (I really can't believe he's getting that old!) and he loves to play with it. I kept trying to get a picture of him sitting on it...or playing with it at least...but every time I pull out the camera...he stops whatever he's doing to come and check out the camera. So, I gave him a fun toy...THE REMOTE...to keep him occupied. About 3 pictures in, he fell over on the couch, but kept exploring the remote and pushing buttons. It made for some great pictures. It looks like he's surfing channels, vegging out for the day. We're sending these pictures to grandma and grandpa on their mission in Philadelphia.

Future's So Bright...

So, I just bought a new pair of sunglasses for the season...a sure sign that spring and summer are on their way. Dark sweaters are making way for lighter (and more fun) outfits. Sandals are becoming the shoe of choice. However, this spring I may be battling for my glasses. Wes has decided that they are his toy. He pulls them off of my face and chews on them. He throws them on the floor. And he giggles like crazy when I put them on his face. So...this season, I may be buying more than one pair of sunglasses because I may not be able to see out of these after a few weeks because of all of the scratches. Let me know if any of you see any good deals on shades!

Put a Sock In It!

This is Weslee's newest thing...do everything with a sock in your mouth. It's been going on for a little over two weeks, but I've never been able to get a picture of it...until now! He doesn't seem to care if the sock is dirty or clean (so I have to be extra careful to keep the dirty ones off the floor, because that just grosses me out), and he doesn't seem to care if he's at our house or not (while being babysat this past week, he has sought out other people's socks on more than one occassion). He will also crawl while carrying blankets or towels between his newly developed teeth...but his favorite is socks. (You can tell he's my child by how strange he is. Who knew?)
